Early Father's Day Card

I hid myself away in my craft room today.  It's a wet rainy day and I wan't really notivated to do any house work.  So here is what I did. My Stampin Up! order came today and I couldn't wait to use my Designer Series Paper Nautical Expedition and the stamp set Clear the Open Sea.  I just love this paper and stamp set.

This is going to be my dad's Father's Day card.
Hope he likes it.

Stampin It Up! With Mrs. T: Crop for Cancer Fundraiser

Stampin It Up! With Mrs. T: Crop for Cancer Fundraiser: "I attended the Crop for the Cure fundraiser on Saturday. My friend Lisa came with me. We had a great time and got lots of scrapb..."

Crop for Cancer Fundraiser

I attended the Crop for the Cancer Fundraiser on Saturday.  My friend Lisa came with me.  We had a great time and got lots of scrapbooking pages done which is very unusual for us. We tend to get a little distracted at these events.  However, we were very focused on getting our pages completed that day.

It was a little iffy if we were going to get there at all though.  On our way to New Minus I noticed there was a  noise coming from the back of the car.  I thought it was my muffler combined with the containers full of markers and brads and buttons that was making all the noise.  Well the noise got louder and louder so I pulled over I checked to make sure we didn't have a flat tire.  I walk around the car and no flat tire.  Get back in the car and continue on.  The noise is a little louder (if that was at all possible) so we pull over and proceed to call our husband for advice on what it could be.  So Lisa's on the phone with her husband and I'm on the phone with David and they each give their suggestions as to what it could be.  They say it could be the brakes, or muffler or the air filter.

So Lisa and I decide to drive a little further as were between Berwich and Coldbrook.  I'm driving the car about 100km/h and now the back end of the car begins to wobble and shake.  I announce I'm pulling over now and not going any further.  Lisa and I sit on the side of the highway until Dave comes with his tools.  He jacks the car up and then proceeds so grumble and growl at us for having almost killed ourselves because the tire was about to fall off the car.  He could actually shake the tire back and forth to the point that I'm surprised it was still on the car.  So when Lisa and I see how serious our situation could have been we proceed to laugh hysterically which makes Dave even more angry.  He say "I'm glad you can laugh at this.  You could have killed your selves".  So we laugh even more.  I took pictures of the Dave changing my tire.

This is Dave taking the tire off.  You can't see  it but he's not happy at all.

This is Dave showing us how much damage I did to the rim.  This is just about the time when he started growling at us for laughing.  He really couldn't see the humour in any of this.

So after Dave fixed the tire I insisted on taking Dave's truck the rest of the way.  He wanted me to take my car.  He said I'd be okay taking my car I'd just have to stop every 20km to tighten the nuts on the tire.  Ohhh no......I wasn't doing any of that so I took his truck.  Ha Ha.

We got to the crop and received these lovely gift bags from the Canadian Cancer Society.  There was loads of snacks throughout the day and beautiful prizes.  It really was a lovely day.  I did a workshop and made the Bunny Cards with the Ladies.  I think they liked it.

Here's the pages I finished Saturday.

Thanks Ladies

Thanks to all the ladies who came out to my Workshop tonight.  I always have a great time with you.  I'm glad you liked the Easter Bunny card we made.  Now I'll have to come up with a fabulous Mother's Day card for next month.

Here's my daughter Emily with the animals she made tonight at the workshop.  She made a bird, owl and a bunny rabbit.  (Punches used  were Two-step Owl Extra-Large , Two Step Bird Extra-Large and the Bunny was made from the Ornament punch, Oval Extra Large, Oval Large and the Owl punch)

Would anyone like to host the Mother's Day party at their house?  You will get all the hostess benefits from that party.  Also we'll be using the new Summer Mini Catalogue with all new stamp sets and scrapbooking ideas.

Contact me if your interested.  Thanks again ladies.

More Easter Goodness

I was playing around in my craft room today and thought I'd make another Easter card.  I went back to my favorite stamp set Easter Blossoms.  I just love this stamp set.  There's so many ways you can make cards with this $22.95 set.  I think you definitely get your moneys worth with this one.

So here's the first one I made today.
Easter Blossoms

This is my second attempt at the Easter Blossoms card today.  I saw a card on Stampin Connections yesterday and the card was made with some very unconventional spring colours.  I believe they were orange and black.  So I thought why couldn't I try making an Easter card using black and raspberry.  So here is my second attempt.  This time I thought I'd try sponging the sky with a little Almost Navy ink and using the torn edge technique.

Easter Cards and Easter Service

Easter is coming! Easter is coming.  I LOVE EASTER.  I love the candy jelly beans, the pastel chewy ju jubes in the shape of chickens, the chocolate foil wrapped Easter eggs that we always hid around the house once the kids have going to bed and the solid chocolate Easter bunnies.  Who can forget the solid chocolate Easter bunnies!
Easter is also a time to recognize and pay respect for the crucifixion of the Saviour and the price he paid for each and everyone of us.  This Easter let's take a moment and put the chocolate down and pay our respects by saying a blessing on our Easter Feast, attend an Easter church service or read Matt 27 and 28.

In the mean time I have started making my Easter Cards.  Here are a couple of cards I made this week.  I hope you like them.
I used the Friends 24-7 stamp set for this card found on page 138 of the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalogue to create the flower, bird and the sentiment.  The lines in the background of the card in green I used the Elements of Style on page 133.  I stamped it in Old Olive ink. The border was used with the Big Shot and the Tulip embossing folder found in the Occasions Mini on page 28.
I just love birds but do you think I can remember to fill my bird feeders?  Hummmmm

This Easter Card was made with Whisper White paper, Pretty in Pink and the Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack.  Punches used were the XL Scallop Oval and the 1 3/4" x 7/8" Oval Large punch to make the sentiment.  I used the Nature Walk stamp set found on page 27 of the Occasions Mini Catalogue.  I just love this stamp set and have used it many times.  There's just so many things you can do with it.  I also used the Tulip embossing folder found on page 28 of the Occasions Mini Catalogue as well.
